Heads-up Sit and Go Strategy
Since the inception of online poker no downloads, sit and gos, tournaments that start as soon as the table is full, have become among the most popular ways to play. The original sit and gos had nine or ten players. Now you can find sit and gos with almost any number of players, from two to over a hundred, at every top online poker room. One popular variation is the heads-up sit and go.
Heads Up Sit and Go Strategy
There are two kinds of heads-up sit and gos, the straight two player version and the multi-table heads-up sit and go, in which the winners of each table face off in a second head-to-head round. If you are playing a one table sit and go, you can focus on your one opponent.
There are two different strategies to take. You can try for an all out confrontation, aiming to make a big pot every hand. Or, you can play small ball, picking and choosing your spots. While this will depend on your individual style, weaker players will often prefer to play long ball. It will be harder for their more seasoned opponents to outplay them and short-term luck can result in a quick punch knockout.
Multi-Table Heads Up Sit and Go Strategy
If you’re playing a multi-table sit and go, try to keep one eye on the other table. It won’t be easy since you’ll need to focus on your own game. However, if you can, make note of how your other opponents play and their strengths and weaknesses. If they don't focus on what you are doing, this can give you a big advantage if you advance to the next round. |
