Online Roulette
Roulette remains as a popular choice online by standing as a reserve of most live casinos. This casino game is one of the simplest to study and play. All you have to do is cash your amount down on a number, set of numbers, color or type of number. Your hands then need to spin the wheel and hope for the best. Having this said there are a few guidelines to implement while you try the game of online roulette.
Single Zero Wheels
The most important tip you can observe when it comes to online roulette is to look for the single zero wheel. American roulette wheels typically have a “0” and a “00” space on the wheel. European wheels have only the single “0.”
Why is this important? The payout odds in roulette are figured based on what the true odds would be if there were no zero spaces. Therefore, the more zeroes, the bigger the House edge.
Before the Internet, American players were pretty much stuck with the two zero spaces. Online, there are no travel restrictions, so get yourself to a European-style single zero wheel and cut the House edge in half.
Special Rules
Even more rules exist on European roulette wheels that can benefit the player. These rules involve the even money bets, such as black/red and odd/even.
With the “en prison” rule, if the ball lands in the zero, your even money bet is not lost, but “trapped” until the next spin. If the next spin would have been a winner for the bet, you get the bet returned to you.
An alternative rule called ”la partage” presents an option when you spin a zero on your even money bet. You can either have half your bet returned to you, or risk it on the next spin to try breaking even as with “en prison.”
System Pitfalls
Some players think it is a good idea to employ the “Martingale System” when playing online roulette. This system involves doubling your bet every time you lose, with the idea that eventually the odds will have to swing in your favor and you will come out ahead.
The problem is that it doesn’t take many consecutive spins before needing your entire bankroll to double. You might also run up against the House maximum bet, resulting in a huge loss for that session.
